Tangkuban Perahu is one of the still active volcano in West Java, Indonesia. Scenery is in Lembang area, approximately 30 km north of the city of Bandung, presenting natural charm that is so awesome. Name Tangkuban Perahu very closely with a legend a very famous Sundanese land, namely Sangkuriang. Mount Tangkuban Perahu which from a distance looks like a boat upside down, supposedly caused by Sangkuriang supernatural powers who failed to finish the job in making the boat overnight to marry Dayang Sumbi is none other than his own mother. Because so upset not to complete construction of the boat, Sangkuriang finally kicked the unfinished boat, so the boat face down ( face down in the Sundanese language is Tangkuban ). The above mentioned legend who became closely linked to the naming of Tangkuban Perahu.
The mountain has 9 craters are still active until now. Many eruptions that occurred in the latter 1.5 for the recent century craters on Tangkuban Perahu. the craters are Ratu ( Queen ) craters, Upas, Domas, Baru ( New ), Jurig, Badak ( Rhino ), Jurian, Siluman, and Paguyungan Badak. Among these craters, Ratu crater is the largest crater, followed by Upas crater that is located adjacent to the Ratu crater. Some craters to smell the fumes of sulfur, there is even forbidden to descend the crater, because the smell of toxic fumes.
Tangkuban Perahu mountain charm is so awesome, in fact, when the weather is sunny, the curve of the land on the crater walls can be seen clearly, not only that, the basis of the crater can we enjoy the beauty that is very admirable. The natural beauty is what makes Tangkuban Perahu become one of the natural attractions mainstay of West Java, especially Bandung.
